Every country has its own unique beauty. However, even the most beautiful countries could be some of the most dangerous travel locations. The following are fourteen countries that seem like the perfect travel destination, but travelers need to take more precautions. 

1. Jamaica

Jamaica is a picturesque vacation destination with scenic mountains, beaches, rainforests, and waterfalls. However, it currently ranks as the number one most dangerous country, with a murder rate that's ten times higher than the global average. There's more to this country than just the beautiful beaches and tropical climate. 

2. Thailand

Thailand is an incredible country that is well-known for its natural beauty. It has thousands of temples, beautiful scenery, and white sand beaches. However, while the main tourist areas are relatively safe, the danger of visiting this country comes from the risk of theft and assault. If you're visiting Thailand, exercise caution when visiting nightclubs, beach parties, or traveling at night.

However, South Africa is also known for its high crime rate and political instability. Many travelers have encountered violence and theft from the moment they arrive at the airport. They are also advised to proceed with caution when traveling at night.

Although Australia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, there are still several dangers to be aware of. The blue-ringed octopus, inland taipan, redback spider, box jellyfish, funnelweb spider, and eastern brown snake are only a few of the dangerous animals found in Australia. In addition to the wildlife, the exceptionally high UV index is actually the greatest danger to tourists. It's no wonder Australia has been named the “sunburnt country.”

There's also the risk of contracting salmonella, stomach upset, or food poisoning during your stay.

Being trapped inside ice caves, burnt by hot springs, or falling into the crack of a glacier are common dangers for travelers unfamiliar with the landscape.
